In the dashboard
The dashboard shows everything on your account. Most adding and retracting happens through your assistants, but the dashboard lets you manage your data yourself, without relying on any assistant.
What you can always do
Whatever your assistants are allowed to do, from the dashboard you can always:
- retract an entity, a value, or a whole attribute
- delete a collection
- choose which claim a cell shows when they disagree
No combination of assistants or permissions can stop you from changing your own data. If an assistant says it can’t take something back, you can do it here. See What each assistant can do for why the rule works this way.
Exporting a copy
You can export any collection as an Excel workbook from its page. It includes the table as you see it on screen, every claim with its sources and their verdicts, and the guidance behind each column. Exporting doesn’t change anything. See Exporting to Excel for what’s in each sheet.
Deleting a collection
Deleting a collection is permanent, unlike retracting. The collection doesn’t come back, even if an assistant writes to its name again.
The entities in it are not deleted. Each one stays in any other collection it belongs to, and entities that were only in the deleted collection move to the Inbox. That’s why the Inbox itself can’t be deleted.
Retracted attributes can come back
A retracted attribute comes back, with its earlier values, the next time any assistant records a value under its name. So a column you removed can reappear without anyone deciding it should.
If a column keeps coming back, the usual fix is to have your assistant describe what the remaining column means, so the next assistant records into it instead of beside it.
The log
Every call your assistants make is recorded: which assistant, when, what it wrote, and, if the call was refused, the message it got. Refused calls are recorded just like successful ones, so you can see what happened during a run that didn’t finish.
Every claim links back to the call that wrote it. If you doubt a figure, you can see when it arrived and what else came in with it.
Keys and allowance
Keys are issued, rotated and revoked only in the dashboard.
- A revoked key stops working within a few seconds.
- Revoking a key doesn’t remove anything written with it, and doesn’t change what that assistant may retract, because the assistant isn’t the key.
The dashboard also shows how much of your allowance is in use. Each account can only ask for so much work at once, and when an assistant is told it has run out, nothing from that call is written.
