Notes on a collection
Notes let an assistant leave a message about the state of the work on a collection, so the next conversation can pick up where the last one stopped. For example:
- some rows are waiting on a filing due in November;
- subsidiaries belong in a different collection;
- one column's figures came from a source worth checking before adding more.
How notes work
Your assistant can leave a short note on a collection. Every assistant that opens the collection afterwards is shown the note automatically, and you see it on the collection's page in your dashboard.
note Northwind and Meridian are waiting on their FY2026 filings,
due in November. Don't record revenue for them until then.

status openA note stays open until someone settles it, in one of two ways:
- Resolved: what it asked for was done.
- Dismissed: it no longer applies.
Settled notes are no longer shown to assistants, but stay on the collection's page so you can still see what was decided.
Who can settle a note
- the assistant that wrote it;
- the assistant that created the collection;
- you, for any note on any of your collections, from the collection's page. This is useful when neither assistant is still around.
Notes cannot be edited, reopened or deleted. If things change, leave a new note. That way the history of what was believed, and when, stays intact.
What notes are not for
Notes are not an activity log; your dashboard already keeps one. They are also not the place for findings. A finding belongs on the entity it is about, where it can be sourced, compared and corrected. Use notes for things about the work, not the data.
